Editing the Feeds
Anyone have any info on where I can edit the Feed generation. I don’t like how Textpattern handles RSS. They don’t validate and I’d rather have an RSS 2.0 feed anyway.

?
Anyway, /publish/rss.php.

Re: Editing the Feeds
Nope. They don’t.
The problem is that some entries contain HTML from my WordPress days (just yesterday I switched) and Txp 4.0.2 doesn’t allow HTML anymore… of course, for RSS, the fields should be sanitized anyway but that’s one of the reasons I want to modify the file.
Thanks.
Correction: it does validate but with warnings

That link shows no warnings. Am I missing something?
There’s a thread here asking for help with RSS and Atom. We need to get that sorted out before RSS 2.0 is feasible.

Re: Editing the Feeds
I’ve fixed the titles with HTML to not have HTML and so the feed validates now. I will look at the requirements but we’ll just have to see. I’ve got quite a bit else on my plate.

Please remember how this feels when you’re accusing others of laziness.

Re: Editing the Feeds
Alex, there’s no excuse for not supporting 2.0. I’m sorry. We may disagree and perhaps I chose a word that was necessarily inflammatory. Maybe I used that term for a reason. You’ve got competition out there and the snottiness that I have always felt from Textpattern I’m quite disappointed has not left. As I said on my blog on this issue, instead of sitting back on high haunches waiting for an established standard, take the lead and make a standard. WordPress has done it. In fact, why not use theirs? It’s the most commonly used RSS 2.0 feed out there.
My apologies for offending you, but there is still no excuse for not supporting RSS 2.0.

And by the way, I’m editing up some content for your research now.

Then support it. Don’t sit back on “high haunches” waiting for someone else to do it for you.
Write some code, or provide the test data we need.
