Modules in Textpattern
hi all!
I’m a fresh convert to Textpattern from Movable Type and am still adjusting to the new way of approaching my content.
Basically, I would like to include some small boxes of separated content in the sidebar of my blog. This is for small things that get updated regularly, like books that I’m currently reading, a Today in History blurb, etc. I don’t need to save any of the data — I just want keep overwriting it when I have new material.
In MT I used a series of modules for these blurbs, but I’m not quite sure how this translates to Textpattern. Should I be using a form for this? Should I make a new section and have each of these blurbs be a sticky article within that section (this seems like overkill)? How do you guys approach this sort of thing? I’m sure there’s a natural way that this is supposed to be done in Textpattern and hoped you could point me in the right direction before I start making my own hash of it.
Thanks!
Lisa

Re: Modules in Textpattern
From what you are describing, forms are probably the easiest way to do it. Just create a form and put the content you want to call in it. Then use the txp:output_form tag to call it where you want it to go in your template.

Thank you! Seems like that will work just fine.
Cheers!
