Re: Textile not working in article

Textile is only applied when an article is saved. Ensure Use Textile is turned on in preferences, and re-save each of your articles, making sure Textile Body and Textile Excerpt are on under Advanced Prefs.

Re: Textile not working in article

Excellent

Thank you zem. Can’t say I understand it, though. Did I botch the upgrade to somehow “unsave” the articles? They had displayed correctly after being published (and saved) prior to the upgrade.

…or maybe: If an article is assigned to a category after it has already been published, does the article need to be saved again?

Re: Textile not working in article

The global Use Textile preference didn’t work properly in 4.0, disappeared around 4.0.1, and reappeared in 4.0.2. I’d guess you had it turned off in an earlier version when it had no effect, and when it reappeared it suddenly (and, for you, unexpectedly) started working.

Obviously when you change the category on an article (published or otherwise) you have to click the Save button. There’s nothing more to it than that.

Re: Textile not working in article

I just started with Textpattern 10 days ago, with a 4.0.1 installation that did have Use Textile set as the default under preferences, and I left it there. I suspect I did not do a clean upgrade yesterday (I found today that some new .2 files clearly did not copy over .1 files) and that I somehow “lost” the Use Textile global option till I uploaded more carefully. Messing with categories in between could have confused the issue.

In any case, I appreciate the simple solution and your attention, Alex. Onward!
