divs not having any effect
My entire site (http://nattily.org) uses two div layers per page. It works on any page that doesn’t involve textpattern, and I pretty much just copied and pasted the whole thing into textpattern (keeping the content and essentials at the top), but it refuses to recognize either div. I’m using absolute positioning for both, at I’m at a loss to find anything wrong with the code. Then again, I am pretty bad about missing easy things.

Re: divs not having any effect
A quick guess: you still have the default stylesheet loaded up.
- Go to presentation > style
- Empty the textarea completely, and save.

Re: divs not having any effect
No, sorry. That didn’t help. Any other ideas?
(I put all the CSS back to give it at least some appearance of belonging.)

Re: divs not having any effect
Have you tried the standard <code><link rel=“stylesheet” href=”<txp:css />” type=“text/css” /></code> tag in the head section of your TXP templates? You can add “media” to that if you wish assuming it works. :) And have you ensured that the default style is attached to your sections in the “Sections” tab? (just a thought)

Re: divs not having any effect
That’s already there.
Man, this is getting really frustrating. I just can’t find what’s wrong.

Re: divs not having any effect
I took the time to dive into your layout to find the problem. I’m not exactly sure what was wrong, but I managed to fix it anyway. Can you post here what your page template looks like, so I can put the Textpattern tags into my copy and give you back what you need?
You might want to save your images as a gif instead of a png. While I love the png format, IE screws up with pngs and colours, making the background colour and the image colour look a couple shades apart. It doesn’t always matter, but with your layout it does. I can see you compensated for IE by adjusting the CSS colours, but that makes the other browsers act like IE did. Saving as a gif will solve the problem. :)
