[issue] Textile: List Items Improperly Closed

I’m not sure if this is a 4.02 bug or a Textile dev request. I seem to remember doing this without issue at some point, but my memory isn’t what it used to be. Here goes….

List item tags are not closed using Textile only when a line break is in play.

Example (ignore spaces):

* “ Link Text “ : http://something Some extra text

OR

* Straight Text Some extra text

becomes…

< li >Link (or straight text)< br / > Some extra text

…with no closing < /li > tag.

The break is inserted and text resumes properly, but Textile doesn’t seem to be aware of the list item’s end point despite beginning a new line and item. Straight text and text with links embedded without any breaks are properly closed.

I just reworked a Textile post over in HTML for validation purposes and I’m reminded of how much I depend on Textile now. What a time-saver!

Update: This issue has been posted before. A search didn’t find it beforehand. Goes back to this post in June. Guess my memory is failing. {sigh} ;) I had tried the manual break insert as well. Didn’t work. Any plans for supporting this any time soon?

I’ve also had this problem since early gamma versions. I worked around it be inserting the <br /> elements in plain HTML.
