Okay, a little rebalancing
So I have been playing with my site for a while, but I just can’t to seem to achieve what I want which is something very simple and a deconstructed. I am not sure if it is the proportions and improper white space or what.
Anyway any suggestions would be appreciated:

Re: Okay, a little rebalancing
There are 3 things I would look at myself. I think it’s the spacing that needs looking at. First your top article needs to move up so that it’s title is level with the “About” title in the menu. Next I noticed that, in the Sep 1 article, the time has moved up to the date line. You might need to put a break in there to ensure it stays down. Third is the most difficult. I think the space between the menu and content is a little too wide. Is there any way of having the content move left a little and flow over the Japanese glyph and then move the menu to the right a little as well? Not too much but just narrow that gap a bit?
I do like the design though. :)

Re: Okay, a little rebalancing
1. I actually was trying to make it seem a bit haphazard which is why they are not on the same level. I agree it doesn’t really seem to work.
2. Actually I intentionally had the time on the same line as date, but the punched out box is a bit irregularly shaped that way and it may be better to have it be a bit taller.
3. That is probably true, the glyph acts as the main link to the site, but I may create a punch out that overlaps both columns and turn it into more of a two-column layout.

I didn’t realise the glyph was a link. It’s not very obvious though a nice idea. I prefer the date/time/comment on 3 lines. I think it looks neater. I wonder what will happen though if your comment count gets into double figures? You may need a very small amount of extra width there.
I also noticed that the picture link in the menu gets an “underline” when you hover over it which makes the “current music” box move up and down a bit. You might want to look at that.
Anyway let us know here when you’ve done any mods. I like the design and would like to see it “perfected”. :)

Re: Okay, a little rebalancing
I like the design too ..it is somehow relaxing
still some improvements could be made as thebombsite suggests. i would like adding some suggestions for the commentfield. rightnow it is not as smart as it could be. Livepreview is not working. and i would put the commentfield first (on top) and beneath email/name-input field. style the submitbutoon a bit per css … ans so on.. :)

Re: Okay, a little rebalancing
Okay, I have it in a 2 column format with the glyph as a header now. I may just move the glyph to the left, but that seems too orthodox.
Live preview will be reenabled when the TXP upgrades slow down… The comments section definitely needs a bit of work, but I am trying to get the whole feel down first.
