flash clickTAG, textpattern and firefox problems

Hi all,

if anyone can help me out here or come up with a better solution to the following, that’ll be great…

I’m using flash/swf files for a blog that I’m creating which require click throughs to permanent articles (i.e. similar to using image thumbnails as a method of navigation – but instead you click on the flash file)

Rather than imbedding the link of the article into the flash file, I’ve used the flash clickTAG to dynamicaly call the links
so… in my article form code where I’ve imbedded the flash file, I have:

<param name="movie" value="files/<txp:custom_field name="flash-file-name" />?clickTAG=<txp:permlink>">

here, the clickTAG URL is a permanent link to an article.

Now this works fine and dandy in internet Explorer, but when its viewed in firefox, the flash file just doesnt want to show!
If i replace the <txp:permlink> with a static link, then it works fine – but obviously i dont want it to link statically,

Does anyone know what can be done? or alternatively, is there any possible way to imbed permanent links in flash?

thanks in advance

Re: flash clickTAG, textpattern and firefox problems

thanks…sIFR looks like a cool substitute for text…but its not exactly what im after…

basically ive got flash animations (flash animations of ebook covers to be specific) – the equivalent of thumbnails – that need to be used as buttons to click through to the permanent link..(client request..)

what i dont get is why using a permanent link as a clickTAG url works fine in internet explorer, but results in it not loading in firefox (compatibility issues i guess?)

but are there any other solutions?
