I’ve been looking more into the article form_article_list.txt
I would love for each article to be wrapped in a div. That way one can easily add a border around the whole post, or add a background image. Or even float the div, so that you can have articles beside eachother ( like this). I’d rather have the div then the < hr > article separator.
The div doesn’t show up without proper CSS, it doesn’t have the semantic value of the <hr>
. But they may not be incompatible, we can have both I think. I’ll add it.
Yes, oh yes! Its quite usual for the body tag to have background images while a container div holds the rest of the page together with a border or some other magic stuff.
You cannot get enough div tags :)
I’m not very found of meaningless tags (as opposed to neutral ones, it’s all in the spirit) but it’s a default template not a HTML school, so why not. I’ll add it :)
Edit: done, it’s all uploaded, also with last day edits.

If everyone’s good, I’ll send the whole thing to Dean for final approval.

Re: A new default template for Textpattern
When a form is submitted with missing compulsory fields an error message is displayed. Taken from your new comment form, see “Please enter your name”:
<code>
<div id=“commentInputName”>
<label>Your name:
Please enter your name<br /><input type=“text” name=“name” value=”“ size=“25” tabindex=“2” />
</label>
</div>
</code>
The error message should be able to be styled (in red or something), but it isn’t. I guess its part of the Txp code that needs to be changed. What do you think?

Re: A new default template for Textpattern
Lee, that’s not in the template, but in the TXP code. But yes I’ll look at it.
And the templates have been sent to Dean for approval and/or tweaking.

Yep, a long time ago :) Dean did some changes to the native template, but refused to include mine or rework on it. I don’t know why exactly.
