PokergameFan
Online Poker metablog. Trying to find simply good poker resources (blogs/other) on the net. Leaving out all the spam. Are using the nice Leaf template. Only been live a couple of days.

At 800×600 the advert on the left is over the content, and the tabs tooltips are hidden by the flash advert bellow (flash has a habit of being on top regardless). This is on Firefox 1.5 and XP
Otherwise everything seems fine. I guess I can’t complain about flashing adverts on this sort of site?

Lol :-) Flashing stuff (not to much though) is kind’a “trademark” of the genre. I don’t wan’t it to be regarded as a spam site so I will be carefull with over the top advertising.
I also noted the slight problems at 800 so I will narrow and decrease the right margin some. Thnx for the feedback.

I would also add that your masthead has a black border instead of the navy background, seems odd.
In addition the add on the left has a white background which is made to have it look rounded in surrounding white, but because of the navy it looks unfinished. YOu may address that with a background that repeats on the y and is 2000 pix whide or something like that, with a 200 px white column on the left?
Just an idea.
I agree that you want to watch out for too many adds on a site like this, you could quickly look like a spam site, the adds might be more carefully placed.

Are you thinking of the partial brownish “edge” on the header img? Shouln’t have any black borders in neither (crt) FF, Opera or IE. However, IE have some problems with the “live search” design, probably a detail i missed.

Ok, so I refurbished (a lot) it, based on some of your comments. Think I’m closing in on a 1.0 now. Always looking for feedback. Anyone using something else than FF/IE/OP? If yes let me know how it looks.
