Forum layout all weird in Firefox
Is the forum looking all weird to anyone else in Firefox? It’s like some of the layout styles are missing. It’s looking perfect on IE/win oddly enough.
Anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

‘nother Firefox 1.0.7 (Win), just fine. I assume you’ve done the ‘clear cache’ dance?

It’s fine in my firefox install at home so something must have gotten messed up with my installation at work. I figured it was localized since no one else was mentioning it, but I thought I’d check before I started rebuilding my profile or anything like that.
Thanks all.

Re: Forum layout all weird in Firefox
Well I can’t seem to fix this at work and it does it on every machine here which is quite odd. This is with Firefox 1.0.7.
It seems like base.css is not loading. I have no idea what’s causing this but it’s happening on every machine here, even though it works fine at home. I ended up just saving all the style sheets locally and applying them by hand using the developer’s toolbar, but if any of those with forum modifications powers want to look at at it I’d be happy to help anyway I can.

Re: Forum layout all weird in Firefox
Hmm… Not loading? Before you saved the stylesheets locally, what did get when you opened the CSS sidebar, or if you tried to view the stylesheets directly?
Edit: Oh and what about when in safe mode?

For what it’s worth, I get the same problem with Firefox 1.0.7 at work, but not 1.0.7 at home.

I get nothing in the CSS sidebar, nothing at all. If I use “View CSS” it only brings up the main CSS and none of the imported ones like it normally does. I can however access all the stylesheets successfully from the browser itself using the addresses they are being called from.
Safe mode was the first thing I tried after clearing my cache, still happened. I created a new profile, still not working. I uninstalled Firefox, removed all files, destroyed my old profile folders, and re-installed, and it still doesn’t work. Happens on all the other machines here at work too.
Gremlins I say. Gremlins or maybe elves.

Re: Forum layout all weird in Firefox
I wonder if it is something about the stylesheet itself, maybe the comments that are in it? If I temporarily removed the comments surrounding the import rules, could you check and tell me if that makes a difference?

same thing still. Although I’m not seeing any real difference in Oxygen.css. Did the comments get removed from there or from base.css?
I think it has something to do with our firewall or something. I tested some machines in a different subnet and they behave fine. I work in a hospital so we have a more restrictive subnet (which I’m on) for HIPAA requirements and stuff.
They must have changed something because everything used to work fine. Thanks for the effort Mary. At least the “add user style sheet” method keeps me form having to sue IE to view the forum.
Anyone know of any extensions that let you attach a user stylesheet to a site permanently?
