list categories not alphabetically

I have more than 5 categories. But the way that they appear is alphabetically. Is there a way to decide the order that the categories appear?

maybe a feature request: an extra field when defining categories – “weight”

if there is already a way to do this, would be very interested to know how…

If it’s not something that will change a lot just hard-code them in a form in the order you want to see them… I use the same trick with sections for my navigation menu.

Categories can change a lot more than section.
