Major layout glitch
Hi
Yesterday I finished installing and modifying the TXP Thirteen template. My site is showing up just fine in Firefox and Safari on Mac but when I look at it in Internet Explorer (both on Mac and PC), the layout is totally screwed up. Seems like all of the elements are just being placed under each other.
Please bare in mind that I have hardly any coding knowledge at all especially when it comes to CSS so I’m guessing it may be something obvious (to you guys anyway).
If you could please check out my site and post back if you have any suggestions then that would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Re: Major layout glitch
Just for the record, thanks Stuart
Pretty much sorted now apart from a minor glitch in MacIE.

Re: Major layout glitch
If you do not have particular reasons to think that you’ll have many visitors browsing with IE Mac, just forget it . It’s abandoned by MS for almost 5 years now. Even on very specific Mac sites, it’s about 1.4 percent of the browsers (on other sites, it’s less than 0.8 percent) and it’s getting lower every month. It’s loosing time. IE Win is enough to debug and it’s a 40 % browser even on Mac sites during work time (hem! Some are net-surfing at work it seems !) :-D

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Most people on Mac will be using Safari or Firefox anyway I would have thought, I certainly don’t know anyone who uses Mac IE.

Re: Major layout glitch
Those who are still on Mac OS 9 do, as it is the default browser, but we have to tell them ther is a good Mozilla for Mac OS 9.

Re: Major layout glitch
True, although a lot of people are switching to OSX now there are still a few people out there who still use OS9. Especially older print houses. I was a bit slow at upgrading myself as I’ve used Macs since the older system 7 days and loved OS9. Would never go back now though – I love OSX.
I might put an article on my site there with a link to Mozilla 1.2.1 or what ever it is now…
