And, maybe you’d looked over my question :P, but here is it again :)

Is this going to be the new txp style? Or do you make it avalaible as plugin?

Yes, That´s what she meant :D Sorry, finnish style of writing dates…

Gonna re-test it on another installation in case it was something I messed up.

Oh okay the date. That’s weird, I don’t know why it would do that, unless either you forgot to replace a file, or I forgot to include a file in the zip.

The facelift will be updated again soon. There’s something I am was waiting on.

I’ve had the default font size survey up for a little while, with 26 votes to date.

The largest concern has been about the ability to change text size, but as I mentioned in the first post of this thread, and demonstrated to those who asked for a copy of the files, this wouldn’t be a problem anymore. The goal of the survey is to determine the base size to start with for new Txp installations, powered by a preference you can update right after you first login. Regarding this preference, at the moment it’s just dropped under “Advanced Preferences”, as I’m not sure where the most appropriate place would be.

Personally, I’d like to leave orange and tabs behind us. Others love the original tabs. Therefore, I’ll also make available a “legacy” CSS file for those who don’t want Textpattern’s styling to change, and when I get the time, I’ll also make available something drastically different (no orange, no tabs), so you can see how only a few changes will make the admin more skinable.

I don’t know whether the last posted version will be the final patch I would submit, but whatever it ends up being, it will still be very much Textpattern. Whether it would be used would depend upon certain things. If it is, it would likely show up in the “crockery” and then “dev” branches (svn) some time before it’d be officially released, so that it could be suitably tested before unleashing it upon everyone. That’s in addition to what’s being tried and tested before the patch is sent in.

Ideally, the images and CSS for the admin would be managed via true “skins” which, once installed, you could swap between from the admin interface. I’d like to work on this soon too.

I’m still keen for feedback or those that want to pitch in.

I may be stupid. I can’t seem to find any link to download the facelift files. I once found a link. Dunno where. But I’d like to get this again.

Nope, not stupid. I made mention of it later in the thread, and forgot to update the first post (I have just now done so, check under “Notes”). I won’t send it right away, since I’m updating it again now that 4.0.3 is here. :)

Hey- for some reason I’m getting this error when I try to use facelift. I had tried to use it before and the CSS styles were stripped from the pages, but now I’m not sure what’s happening. It goes back to normal easily by replacing the files that were changed. I’m using the most up to day version of Textpattern. The url for the website is www.goingmagazine.com

I don’t think you can use/mix Mary’s files straight with the current version of Textpattern. Mary’s files are made based on the state of TXP back in October, and have not been updated for the latest mods in TXP.

I plan to release a modified ‘top navigation’ part soon, time allowing (basically, chnaging the nested tqble soup to list, move the ‘link to site’ a bit, and the ‘logout’ link) [1]. But adapting the whole of Mary’s work to the current state of TXP would mean significantly more work.

[1] and eventually submitting as a patch, if the community here finds it interesting…
