sorted selection of random links

I searched for this and I am probably missing something obvious, but is there a way to generate a list of links of a certian length randomly slected from a larger given category, but have the outputed list sorted by link title? Not sure how to do this since the random feature is implemented though <code>sort=“rand()”</code>. Thanks in advance.

I am guessing this is not possible without some sort of plugin?
