Embedding movies in a page
Hi, I have a client who wants to place movies on one of his pages – quicktime. He wants a link to the movie like:
My Movies
Movie one link
Movie two link
etc…
So, it seems TXP does not like uploading movies….seems to be the file size (movies typically 5mb in size) unless someone knows better.
Anyway, client does not want the usual download link, he wants the movie to be linked, then either to play in the same window or in a new window. So, making a link to a movie is quite easy, but its not so nice to have a new blank window open, since its a blank window with no menu or anything……
So I was wondering if someone know how to have a list of movies, that when one is clicked, opens the movie in the same window or a new window, but with the site navigation attached.
And I don’t know anything about media files if that wasn’t already clear ;-)

Re: Embedding movies in a page
try using a custom field that the client adds the file name of the .mov that he uploaded via ftp. Associate a custom form with that field that has all of the embed markup.

Re: Embedding movies in a page
Maybe that would work. I previously placed the embed markup within an article and within a custom form. Both methods worked. Displaying a movie link for downloading is easy, as is displaying the movie itself.
Not quite sure how to go about having a movie link, that when clicked, opens up either a new window or reloads the same page, then displays the movie. I don’t know anything about javascript.
If I am to have the movie load in a new window, it would be nice to have a menu on the top of the pop-up window (or full browser window).
