How is it that you can’t edit the Homepage details? You can’t access the template? Sounds truly weird if that’s the case…
As for your Latest Jobs section: if you’re assigning your Sector and Telecoms articles to that section, they should be showing up just fine. You should look into the article_custom tag for ideas as to how you can customize article output by category as well.
Answers:
1. Any article published by Textpattern will be indexed. Any content hardcoded into a template will not be indexed.
2. Not really. I manage both “static” and “blog” pages with Textpattern and it’s much easier to have everything in one place.
