its so strange, even though i deleted the file, it still gets displayed and has like by far the most hits…
That file gets requested by the browser for every page that it requests (Firefox, IE, and others). You’ll see it for everything that a visitor to your site requests as well as every page in the admin section that you view. The file is used for the little icon in Firefox tabs as well as the icon some browsers put in the address bar or next to a bookmark. Drag this link to your desktop and you’ll see a a little lego block as the icon.
If the favicon.ico file is missing, it should appear in the log as a 404 (with an X in the “flags” column). If it’s on your server, you shouldn’t see a request at all.
They’re pretty standard web files – my confusions is why they’re in your log and not marked as a 404. I should only log things that Textpattern served to the web browser…

Are they actually 404’s? What sort of files are they? I get a ton of 404’s as well and there are also some “messy url” requests that should be 404’s, but aren’t flagged that way.

Hi Lee, i noticed (perhaps someone else too?) my Daily Hit Statistics stopped after 14 days. The last info is for the 28th of Sept. May be a bug?

That chart is only designed to show the past two weeks. I’ve been busy with a few other pieces of the plugin, but will eventually write a chart that has a full month of info and another chart that shows a full year. Part of the problem is designing them so they aren’t too wide…
I have a final alpha-test version of my plugin that I’ll post later today. It still doesn’t have all of the charts available. In a week or so I’ll have all of the features in the plugin, though.

You could use some kind of pagination? Maybe a select for the months?

I am posting my link. My Admin subpanels other than plugins are now just blank white pages. I hope this chages that. My site

I’ve sent you an eMail with some suggestions. Just in case others run across the same problem – I didn’t test the plugins under RC3 and I assume that there’s some incompatibility with the way my plugins are loaded. I’ll follow up with eMail, but we’ll get this sorted and you mentioned that you were upgrading to the newest relase of TextPattern.
I’m not going to work on getting my plugin working with older releases, but my code should see that it’s an older version of TextPattern and gracefully handle things. Thanks for finding this.
