UNB : a worthy PunBB contender !
I’ve been saying this here and there a few times : Unclassified News Board (aka UNB) is a forum worth mentionning and now that I have toyed with it a little I can even go as far as saying that my favorite forum, PunBB, has some real competition…
The imminent release of 1.6RC1 will confirm the trend, as it’s now fully tableless, and the roadmap is nice too :-)
Just as a reminder, you get :- Native real-time Jabber IM notification on new posts
- Detailed access rights management with an Access Control List
- Real unread posts selection, without cookies
- Full Unicode support (i18n), multiple designs and languages
- RSS feeds
… and more
Check it out if you look for a board system :-)

Il a l’air intéressant. Peut-être même plus que PunBB sur certains points (vraie gestion unicode, et véritable gestion read/unread). A tester.
Edit: grmbl, I thought I was on the french forum. Well, I just said it seems interesting. It may even be better than PunBB (with real unicode support and real db read/unread management). Ought to be tested fully.

Well it’s horses for courses isn’t it…. I had a look at UNB, but personally I’m really happy with PunBB – nce and simple, not too many features for people to mess around with and a good support community. Why change?

I didn’t mean you should change, and don’t get me wrong punBB is great & I love it, but if you have a new project it’s worth considering… For instance I like those nice RSS feeds, don’t know if PunBB has solved this or added a nice support of those for each forum (?) Still no rss link here for instance…

Not too bad. Does the default install look like thier forum?
