Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

Have you gone to the admin -> resize tab and set your preferences?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

yes. i’ve set my preferences right after installation, and i’ve just set them once more. error messages remain the same. the set preferences do what they are expected to do, resizing works.

any more clues?

thanks, r.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

I think the question that was not asked is : what is the version you’re using ?

Isn’t this an admin-side plugin ?
I don’t remember the rev it was added, 300something…

Yes, this is an admin plugin (check the thread title ;) and if you can get to the plugin tab then you have an acceptable version of Textpattern. Admin plugin support was added in Rev 198.

Have you set the select only option to Yes or No? And are you seeing the select list or the full menus? Have you tried changing that setting to see if it applies?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

Hmm, now as you mention a “Style Option” which rss_admin_resize does not offer, things gain shape.

1. I have an inactive QuikPik installation which has the option you are talking about. I tried QP, but it’s rightmost menu (“Quik Pik”) with it’s default #nav li li a padding excesses my available screen height of 768 px so I disabled it but kept it installed in order to dig into it later. Due to the fact that QuikPik’s menu is taller than my screen is high, I never noticed that the very last menu item is “Resize”.
2. I have rss_admin_resize installed and active.

These two plugins somehow collide, even when QuikPick is not active…

I activated QuikPik and changed QPs styling to read: #nav li li a { ... padding: 0.2em 1em; ...}, which made the menu fit on my screen and rid my TxP of the errors mentioned. That also made clear that I would have to delete one of those two plug-ins. Maybe you could add a short notice to the documentation that QuikPik and rss_admin_resize can not co-exist, and there is no good reason for having them both.

Thanks,

Robert

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

I can’t really explain what you’re seeing but I can definitely tell you that these plugins work fine together. I use both on several sites.

If you’re not using QuikPik I would suggest uninstalling it. Its probably checking to see if the cookie exists each time an admin event is processed and if you’ve never activated the plugin the cookies won’t be there.

Just to assert: You have both plugins installed, resize in an active state and QP in an inactive state, and are not experiencing those error messages?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

I’m also getting:

on “write”
Notice: Undefined index: qpSelectOnly in /wwwusr/…../textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(379) : eval()’d code on line 163
on “pages”:
Notice: Undefined index: qpSelectOnly in /wwwusr/…../textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(379) : eval()’d code on line 101
on “forms”:
Notice: Undefined index: qpSelectOnly in /wwwusr/…../textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(379) : eval()’d code on line 70
on “style”:
Notice: Undefined index: qpSelectOnly in /wwwusr/…../lib/txplib_misc.php(379) : eval()’d code on line 131

I am using TPX 1.0RC3 rev.464

I’ve got admin_side_plugins set to yes.

Any ideas?

Mark

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

Same notices as mjarecki on my Txp rev486 regarding the qpSelectOnly, and i do not have the QuikPik plugin in my instalation.

The plugin works fine though.

I’m also getting the qpSelectOnly notice since I upgraded to 4.0.1 from RC3.

On a sidenote, for anyone using Firefox, the resizeable textarea extension is a hell of a cool thing.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_resize: Textarea Resizing

Using Opera 8.50, nothing at all will resize and there’s the qp select only error. I don’t have and haven’t had quickpic installed.
