A motherblog

I´m making a kind a motherblog which collects content from some other sites I host and run.

I used to have this made with single MT installation with multiblog-plugin so there was no problem there. Now my projects run with Textpattern and Wordpress.

tcm_rss gets content from other sites but I´d like to have it done in a way that there is an option to set that for example only first 30 chars per blog/it´s latest post show, stripped from html (no posted images etc.). Also with a permalink to that blog post and possibly with comment count.

Is there any way to do this in a reasonable way?

Maybe you should check this website: RSS-to-JavaScript . I think it does almost everything you wish.

Re: A motherblog

Thanks. That is nice one but I would prefer something non-javascript and more reliable, that one jammed on a second feed test. And if I include ten feeds on the All page, I get ten commercial links “Powered by RSS-to-JavaScript”. No way.

I´m looking something to do within the system, maybe somebody would be interested in adding more functionality to tcm_rss ? Or is there any possibilty to achieve this with some includes?

edit: I changed the all page to use http://www.globalsyndication.com/rss-to-javascript …I can live with that but I do hope more functionality. As you can see, that one also messes special chars, like ä and ö

Magpie RSS will probably do what you want. I know nothing about the ins and outs of making it work—I just know it works beautifully with the txp.icio.us plugin —but perhaps someone can give you more information.
