Re: MX4 tempalte - creating a menu with class="selected"
Well of course you could just put that code into the page template but it is much cleaner as a form and you can include it easily into however many page templates you have. Also when you change it, it is a “global” change instead of having to change every page individually. The reason the code is more complicated than supplied in the MX4 template is simply because the MX4 code is incomplete and you are left to figure it out for yourself.
