How do I disable email checking for comments?

Hi everyone,

I moved recently from blogger to textpattern and I noticed that while I have the same or even greater number of visitors the comments are dramatically reduced. People are discourage to leave a comment because they have to give a valid email address. Simply removing the comment_email_input tag does not work.
I found this post which give some answers, is however old and the proposed solution is not elegant: I have to change the code.

Is there any alternative to allow anonymous comments?
I know that the email checking prevents spam comments, a solution however slimilar to that of blogger (copy text from images) would be better for me. I can live without the the spam protection for the moment, the priority for now is to disable the email checking.

Thanks

Andreas

There is a switch in advanced preferences (which you can reach through “Preferences” and then by clicking on the link at the top). Look for the heading “Comments” and then it reads

“Comments require user email?”

There you can switch it off.
