Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

sounds like a great secondary use… and if you look at the setup of the venue database i’ve got an option for images (as yet unimplemented) that I may expand to the events too…

I’ll have a look into the problem you’ve mentioned…

If you’re using it anywhere I’d love to see it in action too ;) (can put on the front page so others have an idea of what it can be used for)…

cheers,
‘ju

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

I decided to test in-vivo for an organisation
It’s a very basic agenda for the moment (right column) displaying any important date in the org’s life

About the translation : it’s very easy, no problem to make a public translation for you when you decide it is time. :)
Or maybe a simple “How to” would be enough so every one can have a personnal translation (or version, seing the post of creatingsplash).

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

I’m trying out this plugin and I’m getting the same error that creativesplash is getting when trying to edit a venue: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

But it looks like I can edit the venue fine. That error just shows up on the edit page.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Can anyone tell me if the text this plugin generates gets included in Text pattern’s RSS output? I’m looking for a way of having one Events List which is simultaneously published on several websites (via rss).

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Not as of yet, and I’m not sure it can without a hack (as opposed to a plugin). I’ve been thinking about making an RSS output for it – but am unsure of the methodology required within textpattern to achieve this (I know RSS syntax, just not the where + how textpattern plays with its feeds). It’s definitely something I want too (rss feeds are great, have a bunch in thunderbird that i use as my feed aggregator). If anyone can give me some ideas as to implementation, I can get it up and running (may end up being a separate section, though that doesn’t feel too modular)…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

I havent tested this plug-in yet. But it seems to be very interesting and powerful.

It would be nice that site visitors could add/suggest events.
I would like to know if it is the scope of future versions of this plug-in the feature to add events from the user side, so visitors can contribute to the agenda.

Also, for visitors to add events will be a powerful feature for online community sites, and there are some efforts in the direction to create online community sites driven by TXP like Manfre’s <a href=“http://manfre.net/project/657/moderation-queue-public-beta”>mem_moderation</a> and <a href=“http://manfre.net/project/655/community-driven-textpattern”>mem_self_register</a> plug-ins, and also <a href=“http://www.igneramos.com/txp/ign_password_protect-revisited”>ign_password_protect</a> plug-in.

So, if registered users could add/suggest events from the end-user side of TXP, jmc_event_manager combined with the above plug-ins could be used to drive a community event list.

So, the feature request is: that visitors/self-registered users can add/suggest events.

Thanks <small>and excuse my english</small>.
ps: I will test this plug-in and come back later.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Sorry I <a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?pid=78694#p78694”>did not respond immediately</a>. I want to thank you for this excellent plugin I’m using Txp 4.02 and your plugin has been working absolutely fine.

I’m actively using your plugin on one of my websites (Which is being built right now). Infact the website is online but its not visually ready. I want it fully finished before I publish the link. That being said, I would like to display events clubbed according to their dates, without repeating the date format for each event belonging to a specific venue. In short, I want to avoid repeating common data like the day, date and year (for events belonging to the same day, date and year).

Eg. A list displaying all the events from a single venue…

<p>
Saturday 3rd December
6: 30pm : Event 1
7: 30pm : Event 2
8: 30pm : Event 3
</p>

<p>
Sunday 4th December
7: 30pm : Event 1
8: 30pm : Event 2
9: 00pm : Event 3
</p>

How do I achieve this? What tags should I use? Is it possible to achieve this with the existing version?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

No sorry, not possible with existing version.

I’ve not been able to work on this for a while and as such will be N/A on it for the next fortnight or so. After that I’ll be attempting to get an RSS feed created for it and this could be another interesting option… A “Get all events for one day” tag (and a similar one for venue).

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Hello jufemaiz,
Great plugin!!. Thanks and congratulations.

i am trying to implement jmc_event_manager in mi site. I am doing quite well but i am wondering if i can filter events within a day, for instance list today events, or next saturday events etc. Is this possible?

My wish list it will be great to have more control over event’s publishing dates, for instance one event which takes place al fridays within a month, or an event taking place 3 consecutive days, etc. I have seen a similar thing on a mambo plugin. http://mosevents.sourceforge.net/mos/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
I think this will rocks.

see you at Germany 2006 (congratulations ;D),

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Hi,

I’m using <code><txp:jmc_events form=“article_events-table” venue_id=“2” /></code> to display events from a single venue with id=2. But it displays events from all the available venues. Can you please help me with this?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

sorry creativesplash – this will have to wait till after exams… I know the problem (in the ‘todo list’ now) – involves the methodology behind the sql query… doh! thanks for picking it up – what i really need is more of you…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Great plugin, Thanks.

Before I really start using it, I’d like to address an error I’m getting, here it is:

<code>

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

This plugin/hack is great! Thanks for all the hard work…I was struggling on a solution for just this issue.

I do have one question/request…is there a way to have listings for more than one artist?

I’m working on a site for a label and they have several bands on tour at all times. I need a way to “categorize” the events/dates for each band. Any ideas out there? Maybe something to consider for an update?

Thanks Again.
