Re: TextDrive.com Down

According to traceroute, there is badness here:

13 so-8-0.hsa2.sandiego1.level3.net (4.68.112.138) 225.205 ms 221.683 ms so-10-0.hsa2.sandiego1.level3.net (4.68.113.42) 223.853 ms
14 4.79.33.246 (4.79.33.246) 228.956 ms 223.214 ms 225.103 ms ….

And there, it stops, somewhere in the bowels of a building in SanDiego.

Re: TextDrive.com Down

ooh ooh mine too, except on hop 10 rather than 14.

but because using a proxy fixes it for me, I suspect that it is my ISP. (whoa, totally just rhymed there, unintentionally).

Re: TextDrive.com Down

Yep, I can use a proxy (through Safari) to get to Textdrive too. Maybe the blockage is up the line from both our ISPs.

That last hop is our router set and

net.inet.tcp.blackhole: 2

breaks things like traceroute.

“net.inet.tcp.blackhole defines what happens when the system receives a TCP packet on a closed port. When set to 1, SYN packets arriving on a closed port will be dropped without a RST packet being sent back. When set to 2, all packets arriving on a closed port are dropped without an RST being sent back. This saves CPU time, because packets don’t need as much processing, and outbound bandwidth, by not sending out packets.”

As for why? I’m not entirely sure yet. We haven’t been down though.
