How do I: Modify zem_ir to serve GIF instead of PNG?
I’m having a lot of trouble providing support for IE 5 and IE 5.5 while using zem_ir. Can anyone give me a few pointers on how to dynamically replace text with GIF images using zem_ir. If it ain’t possible what are the alternatives (other than SIFR)?

changing every occurence of “png” into “gif” might help (there are three of them in the plugin).
Another approach would be ja_browser_png (check textpattern.org) – works here like a charm.

Infact I had this in my mind but was very stubborn to try it out myself. I’ll try modifying zem_ir (I hope it will work out).

Thanx for the link. It does look very interesting.
