[Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
If you want to enjoy Textpattern in your own language, these are the steps to follow:
- Download the latest version of en-gb.txt file from http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/en-gb.txt
- Translate it to your own language and post a reply to this topic, where you indicate an url to download the translated file, which should be named with the proper language code, followed by .txt
- Add the name of your language using your own language on that post too.
We’re subscribed to this topic, so, when you post here, we will install the language file, add the required help terms and create a translator account for you, in order to continue translating the language and the help with the upcoming updates.

Hi,
please, don’t use this language file, bacause I haven’t included #@sections and keys are in bad order.
Thanks.

izsak, this is only meant for translations into languages that are not already available.
Every language usually has a translator responsible for it. If any of the available languages are not updated any longer, or somewould would like to help or enhance a translation, it’s best to get in touch with the translator and coordinate any changes first.

Thanks for your notice.
Where can I find list of official translators?
I’ve submitted the first slovak translation. At the end of july Dean contacted me about the transaltion. I’ve answered him that I wish to be official slovak translator but Dean never answered me. I haven’t known about http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/ page so I haven’t known that new version of slovak translation is there.

Oh my – now I feel stupid. You are the original translator! Sorry about the confusion on my part.
E-Mail with more details is on the way…

Ok, here goes another translation – Latvian.
lv-lv (Latviešu)
Every string is translated, though one thing I noticed during installation: none of ‘Next’ buttons were translated since <code>setup-langs.php</code> does not contain key ‘next’ in arrays (that applies to all languages).
Note: translated from #@version 4.0;1125923601

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Perhaps I should have posted in this thread first instead of opening a new topic, but anyway here it goes:
I’ve had to translate TXP into Catalan for a project and the ca-es.txt file is here: http://www.xenoid.net/ca-es.txt (Catalan = Català).
I’ve tried to follow throughout the official guidelines for translating software into catalan. Accents and such have been encoded as entities, and they look good. However, there’s a problem with other foreign characters (i. e., Greek, Czech…) and also where the translation appears in a drop-down menu. I’ve been searching the boards for encoding instructions, but the only hint I’ve found is that the file should be encoded in utf-8.
So far I’ve done it in Wordpad, and I don’t know how to utf-8 encode a txt file. Should I use another kind of text editor maybe? Any help appreciated.

Hello, Jordi.
There are many editors with utf-8 support, for example, http://www.crimsoneditor.com/ or http://www.jedit.org/ among others. Ask google for more help to find your tool.
About your file, just replace the entities by their characters and send it to me. There is no problem for me to encode that, since I know you’re using iso-8859-1.
By the way, I’m assuming you want to get involved on the Textpattern translation team, isn’t it?.
Feel free to use this forum to send me the mail with the file and your decision.
And welcome on board!.

Hi,
I’ve made some minor grammatical changes to the Slovak file. New updated file, called sk-sk.txt, is located at http://textpattern.sk/textpattern/lang/
