ableGray.com

ablegray.com

Philadelphia, PA. United States of America

Site is run by me, Matthew McManus, and my buddy, Mike Nicholaides. It is a random blog with a lot of humor/politics/videos/art/etc.

And of course, it could never of happened without Textpattern.

Re: ableGray.com

looks good – mind you the corners should be done assuming the white background you’ve given it…

Re: ableGray.com

Looks good. My one suggestion for better readability would be to add:

<code>line-height:1.8em;</code>

to the body in your css. It may just be me but the text seems bottled up. Other than that one item it’s working nicely.

Sorry dude, Im not sure im following you….What do you mean by that.

Now that you mention it, I agree completely with that. I think 1.8 may be a bit much. I gave it a 1.3em, What do you think?

Keep in mind, the site is still not completed. There is a lot more tweaking to be done to the css and a a lot more to do with fixing old textpattern plugins that didnt like the 4.0 upgrade. Practically every plugin we used is custom or modified from its original.

Re: ableGray.com

Yeah that would still work well. I’m a bad judge sometimes, the laptop I’m on is 1920×1200 so that can be deceiving.

I think must be talking about the bottom cap to your buckets on the left. There is a very small line of grey just at the bottom of them by the rounded corners. ?? maybe…

Or perhaps that the rounded corners are just a bit jagged?

Re: ableGray.com

wow…that line is barely noticeable…I’ll have to check out what is going on there.

And yeah, the corners are jagged. I need to make the corners a little smoother. I made the images the test the code and never got around to making smoother ones cause im lazy.

Oh by the way, Thanks for the feedback! I pretty much made this site on my own and have gotten very little valuable feedback from anyone.

Re: ableGray.com

I like it, but you might correct the spelling error in the grey copyright box (powerd)

You may try dreamhost they are certifiabley awesome and have some great features for a standardly low price. More than you’ll ever need :)

Also, per the videos: two suggestions, tone down your hover border to a dark grey instead of the black, its a bit harsh, maybe even consider a rollover image (black and white to color rollover can look good?) Also, have you considered, embedding the movies as quicktime files or better yet, mpeg4’s? I just learned how to do it and maintain validity, although I am still working on the mpeg4 bit because that is a more universal file type than mwv (stupid windows) :)
