Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest
Just wondering – why the restricted colour palette?
Cheers,

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest
thanks for asking — ‘wasn’t thinking of the color palette as being a restricted selection of all color options… the palette just reflects the colors of the new site design, so it was posted as a guideline.

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest
Hey guys I have been out of town for the summer and I come back and see that soooo much has transpired. I would love to get in on this and I started on some ideas before I have to go back to work next week. Anyway I started on some things and realized it would be somewhat beneficial to know which one of those colors from the palete will be the background for the icons and which one will be the background for the logo. If you know yet, of course.
Thanks!

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest
well, it will probably vary from page to page, and the design itself may still change, but at this moment i’d say the logo is looking at a mostly white background, maybe partly across blue… and then the icons would probably be on a blue background. but again, they could just as easily go on a green/white…
i’d personally not worry so much about color until finalization… i imagine that once the ideas and designs are drawn out, they’ll probably be adaptable in terms of color-matching.
if you have particular color compatability concerns, please feel free to send an email.

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest
Hallo,
thanks to everyone for their submissions so far. Some very nice ones!
Since there have been a number of requests for more time to work on logo designs, we’ve decided to extend the deadline to September 21st. Much later than that and i’ll be extra worrying about getting the site built in time for November 1st, and that will also leave time for icon design submissions. However, if you have icon concepts before a logo has been chosen, those are heartily welcome.
Again, there is no limit on number of submissions.
It’s been really fun seeing all the very different entries.. ‘looking forward to seeing the rest, but not necessarily looking forward to deciding on just one..
Any questions? Feel free to email..
oh btw.. details are posted on the Textpattern Resources site

Request: Can we have a good (resolution) textpattern logo please? :)

that request would have to go to Dean, I think. Unless someone else has access to a highres copy. I’ll drop him an email.

I thought so. But I decided that I should ask here before contacting Mr. Dean. Please let me know if it doesnt work out. I’ll create one using vector so people can use it in future.

Vasanth

Are these just examples or should we choose one out of those system fonts?

hi rayben,
that was just a response to Alexandra’s question about what font we were planning to use:

There are no restrictions on fonts, and not really any restrictions on color, size, etc. Just some guidelines, that you may choose to build on or to come up with something marvelously different.
thanks for asking :)

I’ve submitted some variations too. And I believe I’m here to give you some competition and say things like “There’s always a next time” :)
