Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
Yeah, just what I wanted.
One problem – I can not make the end date display – how will I do that?

Yes, it’s just what I was thinking of. :-)
I agree it’would be best to separate categories from other txp cat.
It’s true that the venue may be a way of hacking this, but suppose all my three events are in the same place, in different times and with different topic… (like a theather season).
Thank you for your response!

Er… could it be that the download on Textpattern.org is zem_tpl instead of your plugin?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
I have a few questions:
- I assumed that
<txp:jmc_event_time start="0" />would display the end date, but it displays the start date. What do I have to do to get the end date? - I don’t quite understand how to use
<txp:jmc_if_variable variable="VariableName">. What exactly should be the VariableName? Could this be used to display ‘other info’ only if that field is not empty? If so, how do I know the name I should use? - Is there a way to display the end date only if the end date is not the same as the start date?
- I would like to display the names of the months in Dutch, so I changed them in the plugin code. But php_date=“j F Y” still gives me the english names. Is there a way to do this?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
doh! I thought that had been updated on the version I was playing with!!!
Anyhow:
- Dates are done using the PHP function. I am not sure of any extension of this to cater to international naming of months.
- the following is a list of variables that can be used with the jmc_if_variable function:
EVENTS:
event_id
event_name
event_price
otherbands
event_otherinfo
VENUE:
venue_id
venue_name
address1
address2
suburb
state
country
postcode
phone
url
email
venue_otherinfo
- not yet – though will consider in an update.
- see above

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
Thanks for your reply. I’ll just choose another date format to avoid the names of the months.
Do I understand you correctly in assuming that dislaying the end date is not yet possible in this version?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
I’m testing too… it looks like a great plugin.
Just a question first :
I’m testing with an event wich began yesterday and will end in a few days.
The event is considered by th plugin as a past event… Is it possible to consider it (logically ;) ) as a future event ? A non past event, at least.
Another question will be about translating the backend buttons and field titles. But I’m not in a hurry at all (it’s only a test) and I have to go and see in the plugin code before ;)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
hehehe – cheers mate…
Yeah – I originally didn’t really envisage this as a long term event organiser BUT I can see its uses, so am considering altering slightly the coding for the events so that there is a ‘current’ option.
Backend buttons currently only in english (my only language) – but am welcome for people to alter it and send back in with updates for other languages similar to TXP itself.

Very good idea !

Of course I was not demanding you to know all the languages ;) . If I’m able to do that myself, I’ll do. Otherwise I’ll see with the french community. In both cases you’ll be aware of it of course. Thank you for sharing. :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager
Works very nicely! Only one tiny problem. I get the following error when I edit a Venue (But I’m still able to edit it successfully)…
<blockquote>
Notice: Undefined variable: row in /DISK3/WWW/naamasankeerthana.com/www/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(429) : eval()’d code on line 530
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /DISK3/WWW/naamasankeerthana.com/www/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(429) : eval()’d code on line 530
</blockquote>
But it all works in the end.
A thought passed my mind while I was using this plugin. I’m sure this plugin can be used to display products like CD-ROM’s and DVD’s. The only option which is missing is providing an input for images (and ofcourse a tag for displaying it). You could use an event for displying an album and a venue for displaying its genre. This will also come very handy to those who want to just display products. What do you think of this idea?
