Re: A Terrible Sadness

My god, this is shocking and tragic.

So often I read an acquaintance’s weblog without wrapping a human reality around the written words. I remember being quite stricken by the frankness with which he wrote about his frequent panic attacks and struggles with finding help through therapy and medication. This just makes me feel sick inside. Rest well, Sivert.

Re: A Terrible Sadness

We take the existance of our friends and buddies for granted so often, and this is very true online, as we often do not “wrap a human reality around the written words,” and now is a perfect example of how we should remember that each moment is fleeting…

May the TxP community live on strongly, and may Sivert rest in peace.

Re: A Terrible Sadness

After a bit of time to digest this:

  • Do please keep posting your thoughts here – I think it’s important that Sivert’s mother Anne-Mette and brother Sigurd have a chance to see how well-liked and respected Sivert continues to be, and how he’ll be missed
  • Our new dedicated server in San Diego, which will soon host this forum and textpatterns com, org and net, as well as textgarden.org, is going to be named sivni.textpattern.com
  • As to what will happen with Textgarden, I’m going to take it offline for the time being while we work out who’ll take over running it, and of course whatever form it takes will be dedicated to Sivert’s memory

Re: A Terrible Sadness

Anne-Mette, mother of Sivert, did ask me to send her regards and thanks to the texpattern community.
She likes to let you know:

I have followed the development in the textpattern users forum. Reading this has given comfort, i am so
touched by the comments.
The caring words and wise comments shared by many, really make strong impressions. May be this sad event can make us all a little more observant on taking care of others. At least here in Norway, but also all over the western world i think, individualism’s bad aspects, ‘your life and happiness is your own responsibility’, is rapidly developing. During the years of 1930 a Norwegian poet wrote You must not stand the wrong which does not hit yourself. I fully agree. Other peoples life and wellfare is of everyone’s concern.

Kind regards to you

from Anne-Mette
