TXP and Mint

I’m tempted to purchase Mint to improve the stats reporting, but if there is anyone using Mint with TXP, can you tell me if it reports hits on individual articles/pages?
Shortstat shows basic info in that area, but is Mint better?

I guess I’m asking if it will give me a better picture of what is popular on my site and what isn’t.

Thanks

Re: TXP and Mint

You can track individual pages and their visitor count (with a plug-in, you can even track downloaded files), and you can also designate certain pages to be “watched” so their results are easy to find. I’ve been very pleased with the information it gives.

It’s very decent, but at the moment I’d say it’s only worth half the fee. Until Pepper gets more plugins, it just a short and sweet overview.

Re: TXP and Mint

I’m running it now. It’s quite nice — i’m still not sure if it is $30 dollars nice, but since I didn’t go out for drinks the night I bought it, I figure I didn’t spend any more money than I normally would. I’ll write about my experiences once it has been up and running for a week.

Thanks Reid (and everyone else).
You mean a Mint plugin, I presume?

Cheers

Re: TXP and Mint

Yeah, I think he means with mint. I wrote a request count plugin for textpattern. But it isn’t the greatest way to track the popularity of an article.

Re: TXP and Mint

I use hit_logger, mainly for the custom 404 / error page ability. It stopped graphing stats after 14 days of being installed, which is when I bought Mint. Smooth sailing thus far.

True, the alpha version that’s out doesn’t have code for graphing on a per month or per year basis. I was hoping for some design input from others before spending time writing something that would be rewritten later…

NeilA, since my plugin is Textpattern specific, not only can it track pages, it also shows top requested sections, files, and articles.

My goal is to have this plugin be better than the commercial stats packages. It’ll just take a little time.

Re: TXP and Mint

Been using your plugin since you released it Lee!
It’s a great piece of code – well done, and since it’s development, I’ve forgotton about Mint… ;-)

Re: TXP and Mint

Lee: Didn’t mean to seem like I was bashing your plugin. It’s pretty cool stuff. I just got hooked on checking my stats (cuz of your plugin), so bought Mint. I’d love to see a stand-alone 404 error handling TXP plugin, and would gladly donate some $ for that. :)
