Re: What's i18n-ascii.txt for?

Hi, there , Etz Heim and all others, I’m really sorry, that I didn’t have the time to log in lateley, but a Surgery of my wife and some other problems came in my way, while travelling here in Germany,it will take me some time to keep up,since I dont have the necessary tools at hands where I am.
If there is a possibility to include etz transliteration update, please do so.

with best regrds, marios

As of revision 840 these characters shouldn’t necessarily be included in i18n-ascii.txt, right?

Update: Unless i18n-ascii.txt can be used for other purposes besides dirifying.

Re: What's i18n-ascii.txt for?

Is there anybody who can explain, why I get this warning on posting an article:
Warning: Error parsing /www/htdocs/blaupaus/redesign/textpattern/lib/i18n-ascii.txt on line 341 in Unknown on line 0

Yes, it’s been discussed in Bug reports and Troubleshooting: Some php versions seem to throw an error message. Please open the file and add a linebreak at the end of the file.

Re: What's i18n-ascii.txt for?

PHP 6 will rely on the Unicode functions of International Components for Unicode, which in turn supports many (50+) sets of transliteration tables.

I hope that this kind of ICU’s functionality will be exposed in PHP 6, so that it will be made possible for Textpattern and similar applications to hand off “dirifying” to it.

Update: There’s also the PECL transliteration package, which has been available for a while
