Re: Textpattern 4 Stable Released

Not wanting to put a downer on anything, but I seem to vaguely remember something about version 4’s being cursed, kicked off, perhaps, by the rather dodgy MS-DOS 4. I remember having to downgrade my system back to DOS 3 because of that turkey (how little things have changed). Anyway, I did a little Googling, and discovered this hilarious thread

We’re all doomed! :)

Re: Textpattern 4 Stable Released

On closer inspection, it appears the number 4 can also mean stabilty, rest and health in numerology (where mysticism meets mathematics). I knew Dean would have these details covered. According to this site, character number 4 means:

Four is the Character number of the builder. Stability and comfort are or paramount importance to Fours, and no empire is too large to manage. They are hardworking, conservative, and practical. Fours have the ability to see the larger picture as well as the details, but they are extremely unlikely to take a risk.

Quite appropriate. Although, according to the same site, “Famous Fours include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Demi Moore, Clint Eastwood, Margaret Thatcher, and Sigmund Freud”.

Margaret Thatcher!? We’re all doomed!

Re: Textpattern 4 Stable Released

I think the DOS thing was just Gates karma. Stability and comfort seem fitting characteristics since it’s considered a stable release and now that it’s officially “production” software, I imagine there will be a lot of newcomers getting comfortable with its paradigm….

huzzah!

After enduring years of Art School, mild mannered Owen Waring noticed some unusual changes… the constant bombardment of criticism, it seems, had altered his DNA. Half pixel pusher, half programmer, he had become…. THE BIZARTIST
