Re: upm_img_popper

sekhu, in the extensions tab you get the preferences for the plugins — one of which is the default value. If you use rss_admin_quikpik you might have to disable that to see the extension tab.

Re: upm_img_popper

This is a great plug-in, very useful for my client who isn’t (and doesn’t need to be) technically minded. I also had a look at your file upload plugin as I thought that might solve my other problem – I need an easy way to link to other pages on my site. Am I missing something very obvious or is it disproportionately difficult to link to another page on my textpattern site?

What would be really good, is if the was a plugin called upm_link_popper… ;-)

I’ve tried looking for other plugins but no one seems to have done this. It’s quite possible that I passed it by though – if anyone has any ideas I’d be grateful to hear them.

Re: upm_img_popper

Well, anyone can use html to make links (or use the <txp:permlink> tag where appropriate), but I’m assuming you mean for the aforementioned client, and from within a post? If that’s the case, zem_link is what you want.

Edit: My “popper” style of plugin isn’t available anywhere I’m aware of, but that’s a good idea, and actually wouldn’t be to difficult to do. The problem is time: recently I got really busy, so I haven’t been able to update or create plugins, which makes me sad. :( Hopefully it will die down shortly. :)

Re: upm_img_popper

Hi Mary and thanks for your prompt response.

I did indeed want my non-technical client to be able to easily create links from within articles. I’m taking a look at zem_link again now (had previously disregarded it as it didn’t seem to offer quite what I needed).

I’d love to see upm_link_popper developed but wouldn’t want that to mean that you’d lost work. :)

Re: upm_img_popper

Mary,

I just got the latest version of TXP (rev 636) and your plugin no longer shows up on the write tab … could there be a conflict in the lastest build?

Re: upm_img_popper

Appreciate your time and it is valuable, but I thought I pass along this post as it is probably why the new deanload version of RC4 doesn’t show this plug-in:

Thanks and thanks again – this plug-in has become one of my default when installing txp.

Re: upm_img_popper

Sencer let us know about the new privs situation a week ago, but the plugin hasn’t been updated since two weeks ago. In between that time, rc4 was zipped for download.

I wanted to add some new features before updating again, but since rc4 is here, I’ll be updating all my plugins right away. So, its coming, honest it is. :)

Re: upm_img_popper

Just a quick question:

for txp:upm_image what does the type “article” refer to? Does it mean the inserted image is an article image? When would one use this?

I’m asking this because I need to combine the features of zem_article_image (multiple article_image’s) with the flexibility in output of upm_image (ie display captions, form formating, etc)

Thanks

Re: upm_img_popper

Yes, “article” refers to an article image; its a slightly enhanced version of <txp:article_image />. Unfortunately, it won’t work with multiple images like zem_image does.

Re: upm_img_popper

Hi mary if I try to place the image in the excerpt container, it still inserts the image at the end of the content in the body container – I’ve tried this several times but it refuses to insert the image intot he excerpt container – could this behaviour be changed? with regards to article thumb images, how can i inser this at the click of the button without adding it manually?

thanks in advance
