Re: upm_img_popper

Mary, many thanks – this is a great job done.

I just wonder whether there could be any better way of solving the i18n issue, since right now the plugin code has to be edited within Textpattern to change language strings. I think a starting point solution could be e.g. to check whether a selected lang string is already set (so lang files get precedence), and add the lang strings into the help text (displayed in lang/* file format), so that translators could copy&paste them into those files.

Anyway, kudos to you.

Re: upm_img_popper

This was discussed.

Lang files already get precedence.

There could be problems with modifying those files, for one thing: if you upgrade you have to redo it again anyway, no time has been saved. Keeping it within the plugin means that you’ll know exactly where to go to translate, rather than sift through a lang file.

Not shutting you down here, I am just waiting for a built-in method for translating plugins. Maybe a plugin lang table or something.

OK, didn’t know about that thread, thanks. Waiting for a global strategy is of course a good choice.

I may be missing something here but they didn’t, for me (using version 0.6.2 and cs-cz locale). Only when I added if (gTxt($what) != $what) return gTxt($what); at the start of the upm_img_popper_gTxt() function, the lang file strings kicked in.

Re: upm_img_popper

If the string already existed in the lang files, gTxt() was called. That doesn’t mean I didn’t miss one somewhere though.

Re: upm_img_popper

Hi there

I’ve tried to use upm_image_popper however all i ever seem to get is is a pop-up window telling me that there are no images (when there certainly are).

I’ve tried: upm_img_popper-0.6.1.txt, upm_img_popper-0.6.2-old.txt, upm_img_popper-0.6.2.txt and get the same results with each.

I’m using the 1.0 RC3 from deanload without any revisions except the plug-ins rss_thumbpop and chh_article_custom.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Mark

Old” is the one you want, the other won’t work for you no matter what.

“I’m using the 1.0 RC3 from deanload…”

I just checked, and it works just fine for me.

Are you certain that you’ve entered the correct settings in the admin preferences (not for the plugin – the built-in prefs “?event=prefs”)? If you’ve got the wrong url entered there, it will effect the plugin negatively.

Re: upm_img_popper

Oh, and Mark: make sure we’re talking about the same thing – these have to be images uploaded through Textpattern, not FTP. Textpattern doesn’t know about them otherwise.

Re: upm_img_popper

Hi Mary

Still no success. I really had no idea why it wasn’t working so I figured on a fresh install. I installed revision 454 this morning using SVN. I used the TXP images interface to load a couple of images w thumbnails.

When I clicked on Insert Image I still get a pop up with “There are no images to list.” When there are clearly images in the images folder.

When I clicked the upm_image_popper help button I get the following:

Notice: Undefined variable: message in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(379) : eval()’d code on line 778

Followed by the usual output.

And when I returned to the admin interface I got the following error:

Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94 Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94 Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94 Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94 Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94 Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94 Warning: call_user_func(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback in /Library/WebServer/Documents/current/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php on line 94

Which has not disappeared even after removing the plug-in. I’m not sure I should report this to the Bug Report section but there are obviously a coupla issues. It is also possible that I could be a genetically challenged when it comes to Textpattern – the jury is still out!

Just to be clear I have chmod -R 777 the current directory and the files are accessible through Apache onto my browser.

A thing I did notice though was when installing rev 454 I got an error message which I stupidly ignored and didn’t take note of. But I think it was similar this one http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=9272

When I reloaded the page the error message disappeared. It is also interesting to note that I was getting a message indicating that the image directory was not writable (I had messy URLs in Admin). When I changed/Section/Title in admin the message disappeared.

I’m using Mac OS X incidentally. Not sure what else you need.

Here are a few details from the diagnostics tab:
