Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
James, update to the latest version of TXP through SVN. I had the same problem, and when I upgraded, it went away.
The following is true
The above statement is false.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
Any update on the bug where if another section has a more recent post, the live archives won’t show for a particular section? My live archives are still disappearing after the loading message.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
can anyone help with this, it seems to be very hit and miss, and i believe wilshire is out of twon right now.
the plguin worked once, then i tried a few other things made a new page to display it on linked it and it still worked, but a little oddly. still i went further, made a few more changes to the page, went through the insall procedure again and…no archives. so i deleted the dat files, reinstalled, went through the process and only one article shows up. so i delete the dat files again, clear everything, restart a new, and only the loading articles page appears, but then nothing. using section makes no different in this instance.
<code><div id=“content2”>
<txp:rss_live_archive>
<txp:rss_suparchive />
</txp:rss_live_archive>
</code>
Any suggestions? I may just end up sticking to sueprarchives until this plugin works on a regular basis if you will. It’s a great way to display archives though.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
Well I got it working by publishing a new article, i tried re-publishing an existing article, but that didn’t work, so I just did some random article and published that. A few problems I’ve noticed.
Deleting and article is not accounted for in the livearchives – it retains both the article name, link to a non-existent article and adds it to the live archive, so if that is your last article for that month, it will only display that article first. It looks like you may need to delete the dat files and restart the plugin each time you delete an article
Secondly, if you click a month with x amount of articles, say 50, it will expand the page to accomodate that alrge list – which is great, but if you then select a month with less articles, it will retain that large 50 line gap even if displaying 1 article.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
It seems like this plugin has some problems with the way it handles the cache. I think I will continue to use rss_suparchive until the above problems can be worked out.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
hrmm… now that i’ve had a chance to play with this great plugin, i was trying to figure out the best way to make the date (01.,02.,03 etc) appear at the beginning of the post title, rather than the end…
any suggestions? :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
As far as i can see, that’s just to enable or disable the date – i want to move where the date is displayed to be before the post title, rather than where it is currently, after…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
found a further problem – adding a new section, one without categories does not register any entries within the archives, this is after reintialising the plugin, cleaning the dat files out etc. seems the caching is causing some of the issues but i think rob’s put a hold on updating until txp 1.0 so until then i suppose use as is.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
Since I svn’d the latest RC3 (354) my basic prefs panel has been reporting errors in the prefs file (line 94). Then it lists about 10 callback functions that produce errors.
The callback functions are from two plugins:
- upm_img_popper
- rss_live_archive
I’ve disabled and deleted both pugins, but the problem persists, any suggestions?
[edit] I fixed this after sencer sent me in the right direction

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
I’m having the same problem as a few others where the archive looks like it’s going to work, and I have it set up with recaching on and calling section not sections, it generates a listing from ?larch=1, but when called with javascript it flashes ‘loading archives’ and then the article list doesn’t get written to the page. I’m testing it here, and don’t have any other javascript on the page to conflict with the live archive script.
quick update – an old plugin to serve my site as application/xml+xhtml is to blame. if anyone has phw_dtd turned on, turn it off and see if that helps…
Another quick little bug quirk: make sure that the section declaration matches from the plugin tag to the extensions > live archive preference, if it doesn’t the articles will only load partially.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
I had a few problems with this, including the years column not showing up, and traced it to copying pasting the tag attributes from the plugin’s help page. The quotes were being pasted as rich text somehow, but once I opened the code in a text editor and made sure all quotes were ‘straight not curly’ everything worked a treat! This is a superb space-saver.
Tell me Rob, do you like cheese? ;o)
