[request] banner management

As Im developing a site that needs to manage some banners I’m interested to know if there’s a plugin or any idea to do that through Textpattern, or maybe to integrate some external script, software or anything to do it.
A simple plugin could be a good choice!

Thanks in advance!

If the banners all point to the same URL you could use dca_random_image.

Re: [request] banner management

Thanks Neko, but I don’t want a banners rotator, just the possibility to enable and disable banners (or change one banner for other) and to have a click counter to know how many times a banner was clicked. I don’t like at all this kind of functions, but in some cases are a good point for your clients.

Actually I’ve got an image category for banners, and all I’m doing is changing a banner for other each time I need it, but guess this could be improved with a Plugin.

duchamp, it sounds like you are trying to manage an ad campaign. I’m not sure how extensive you plan your marketing to be, but check out phpAdsNew.

Re: [request] banner management

Not at all Manfre, I have a client that needs to update the website 3 times per week and the “sponsors” are not allways the same, the only thing that Im trying to do is facilitate the maintenance of the site, making things easier as possible. PHPAdsNew is an option but if I can find the solution just using TXP it could be better!

Anyway thank you so much.

Re: [request] banner management

Some weeks later I can say: “I’ve tested PHPAdsNew and dislike it!”
Well, the admin side is not bad, after a few minutes you can understand the way P.A.N manage banners, but … when you look through the code inserted on your web pages … well, that’s not an state of art code! it’s an ugly piece of code into your (pretended) clean XHTML!

I’m still looking for a nice way to managing some banners/clients in a site powered by Textpattern … any other idea?

Thx

Re: [request] banner management

Find a script, or pay someone to make you one? :)

Edit: Not being snarky, its just that I can tell you this won’t be a “simple” plugin to make, and its purpose is advertisement revenue…
