REQ: related articles plugin
Is there such a plugin that outputs related articles and works? I’ve read many are having problems with TXP’s built in method, so an external plugin seems to be a temp solution? I need to somehow include related articles which are based on the custom fields, as this seems to be missing from the existing method of relating articles. If custom fields are going to be included, then perhaps they need to be seen beyond just providing bits of textual information and to be seen as how they can integrate and work with other tags?

So basically what you’re looking for is an extension of mdn_if_custom that would actually (if named) be something like if_custom_equals or whatever. You’d pass it the custom field number/name and the value you’re checking for, and then list articles that share the same value. Yes?
While researching, I found this thread which outlines how to sort articles by custom field (that may also be of use to you).

I think that’s what I mean, I’m no coder so it’s a bit magic to me what you said. But I think that’s about the gist of it. The way related articles works now, I dont know, I assume it only looks at the title of the article, I’d like it to look at the custom field instead. I’ll take a look at that thread. Cheers
