What are the essential plugins that I should have?
Hello. In your opinion, what are the essential plugins that I should have/use and why?
I’m just trying to get a feel of what people are using and if textpattern is good enough out of the box without plugin usage.

I’d find it next to impossible to develop a site without using plugins.
I’ve got 40 enabled on my site now. Hard to say whats essential and not. I think everyone would have something different to say. But I like all 40 on my list.

out of the box is does a basic and decent enough job of putting together a site. i started off with no plugins, and only when i started to add content or needed something important did I start adding plugins. it very much depends on what you want to do, what your site is abut and so on.

Hey sekhu. My site http://www.mattmikulla.com is my portfolio site and journal.
Right now I feel like I need to find out what texptattern can do on it’s own. When I can’t achieve what I need I will look for a plugin. I’m a little overwhelmed but making some progress.
My main obstacle right now finding out how to navigate to each section page.

The first plugins I use on any install are:
ako_nav
Conditionals: mdn_if is a good one and glx_if as well
Admin plugs such as ump_img_popper or bas_image select and glx admin image resize. (sorry if the names aren’t exact) For your site you will definitely want one of the first two and the last one is sure to make your life easier.
The other two I highly recomend for what you are doing is glx_image and rss_thumbpop.
my 2c.
