Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

I agree: for me, AP is the most exciting TXP side-development. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dean incorporated it into the code, because image handling and gallery generation is a major bonus.

My impression is, the current AP doesn’t run on RC3. Which is a real shame, because when TXP is finally released it will be very similar to RC3 – so clearly, AP badly needs updating. Even a few minor tweaks so it can run on RC3 would be great….even if its not a finished version, everyone can start using and testing it (hint hint!).

Damn, I want to start using TXP/AP…..it will be great!

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Here’s an update for y’all:

- The admin side plugin and such is working wonderfully. Off the top of my head I believe all admin-side things work as they should.
- The site-side (client side? part-rest-of-world sees side?) plugin is being worked on. The biggest difficulty (besides time and being swamped with other, more time sensitive, projects) is with the new URL-scheme’s. I’ve got some plans for fixing that though, just need to test them. School is done in two weeks, and unless I go on vacation for the week right after finals I’ll hopefully have something out then. No new features yet, just want it to work with 1.0 first.

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Be great Rifty.

One thing Im not clear on though: are you saying AP will work with RC3 (or the impending release of 1.0)?

Yes, it wouldn’t be of much use if it didn’t.

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Sorry, what I meant was: does the CURRENT version work with RC3? (especially now that RC3 is the official TXP download).
Some people here are saying it doesnt work for them…..but you never really know what the reasons are for that.

So whats your official line on this, Rifty?

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

From my (and others) experience, right now Albumpattern isn’t working on RC3. So I would not expect it to work, but it probably won’t break anything.

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

I tried to bring albumpattern tr4 and txp rc3 together.

To setup ap with rc3 I used some hints that can be found in this thread. I just bring all of them together, here is the overview:

1) At first I make a fresh install of txp rc3 and set permalink mode to section/id/title.

2) Add gTxt(‘tab_album’)=> ‘album’, in textpattern/lib/txplib_head.php after image in line 155.

3) Copy classImageManipulation.php, classAlbum.php, classAPImage.php, and mdp_lib.php to textpattern/lib (Set permissions to 0755).

4) Copy txp_album.php to textpattern/include (Permission 0777).

5) Install the albumpattern plugin and activate it.

6) Add albumpattern_lang.txt to your language file in textpattern/lang

7) Run albumpattern_install.php

8) Your images folder is on permission 0777 ?

9) Open the textpattern/include/txp_album.php and coment out or delete the function stripSpace (Lines 633 – 653).

10) Add <b>$txpcfg[‘doc_root’] = ‘/home/path/to/textpattern-root’‘;</b> to textpattern/config.php.

11) Setup an album section, an album page and the album forms, examples are included in the ap tr4 zip.

12) The album section should use the album page and is set in the albumpattern preferences as Default Albumpattern Section.

I don’t use all the optional installation steps from the albumpattern documentation, because the files which should be replaced has changed since the release of ap tr4. That means that the album content is displayed in the recent article list and the comment permalinks don’t worke for ap.

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Hi,

I have another question. I need the full path of the highres images stored in albumpattern.
Is it possible to get it with an ID or txp tag?

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Bastian: so is it working with rc3 if you make those alterations?

Dont know whats happening with Greenrift because he’s taken down the AP page on his site. My guess is, he didnt want to be hassled by people while he’s busy.

There’s a group of people here though VERY keen to see this working nicely with rc3.

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Marshal has taken down the items that were being problematic with rc3.

I asked him about textilephp mod and he said:

“I want to slowly add
back my projects, making sure they work for TXP RC3”.

Re: Plugin/Hack: Albumpattern

Ah, OK. Very sensible. No point in offering public downloads for older versions, now rc3 is the standard.

Can’t wait to see this….
