Yeah, I just reinstalled 1.0rc3 and it is working… sort of… I use a modified CSS file (cos some fonts and colors, etc didn’t suit me) but now everything is standard blue for links and black for headers etc.
So does the QuickPik CSS override the regular textpattern.css?

Rob, can we get a few more options in the CSS? Or is that something outside of the QuikPik plugin?
My wife doesn’t like the yellow :P and I am trying to setup the sites (I have about 9) so they all use different colors in the header. I can change some of the colors via the QuikPik CSS, but some I can’t. Are they hardcoded by you (inline styles) or by TXP itself?

Eric,
Those are hardcoded into txplib_head.php. You can get a roughed out color change by giving your td and th some color specs. It won’t get rid of all of it, but it will change enough of it to make each site/entity recognizeable. Whats wrong with txp orange anyway! :)

jbrew – QuikPik does not override any CSS so I can’t explain what you’re seeing. Does it still happen if you disable the plugin?
edburdo – As Jamie said, those are hardcoded into Textpattern iteself. So they’d have to be changed in txplib_head. They could also be changed using some additional DOM scripting.

When the plugin is disabled, it looks quite unstyled. Links are in blue the nav is all cramed toghether – no padding, no background images, etc. I am not sure what it is. Basically it seems like the CSS isnt being loaded at all. I dont know….

I’m going to guess that if you have a custom txp.css file that there is a conflict going on between the two. What happens if you back up your custom css file and plop a standard txp.css file back in it’s place?

Have you tried setting up a fresh install and seeing if this happens?
Also, don’t know if this is the case for you but do you happen to be compressing your CSS and using Firefox? Odd questions I know but I’ve seen problems with this combo.

OK… I will try that then (hacking the head file). My wife things the orange is “bleh”, so blame her. :P

Funny. I am using Firefox and yes my CSS is being compressed. I will try and play with these variables, but I think I will just go back to the OG style… Thanks, tho.

I had the same problem. I assume you followed this thread as I did. The problem I saw is that when you add the necessary code your your css.php file the textpattern.css is compressed but delivered as “text/html” instead of “text/css”. This causes Firefox to puke. If you open up the Javascript Console you should see the errors. It should still look fine in Opera or IE. If someone knows how to fix this, please share!
I seem to have fixed it by removing the code from css.php but leaving the .htaccess call to turn compression on. It looks like my files are still being compressed and I can use Firefox to administer my site again.
