[wiki] TextBook Wants You !
I have decided to help Destry enroll as much of you I can take to boost the TextBook effort and try an insane bet : let’s try and release this thing before 1.0 comes out ! What do you think of that ?
I mean, this forum is thriving and there are so many great and talented people here I can’t believe we can’t go faster than this ! OK, I know we’re all toying with RC3 right now and helping debug… but wouldn’t it be great to achieve this ? Writing a documentation for Textpattern is less fun than roaming the forums here but let’s face it newcomers are sometimes asking pretty obvious questions for a reason, and we could all benefit from disciplined effort to capitalize knowledge :)
Will you answer that call ?
Just say yes and mail a request for account creation and go for it !

I’d love to be helpful but I am not exprerienced in Textpattern enough to write to Textbook.
But I’ll try to help as much as I can! Finishing Textbook before the release would be a wonder!

Thx for your reply :-)
If you feel up to it, try and contact Inspired which has taken the job of coordinating the russian translation, you could be helpful there :-))

Re: [wiki] TextBook Wants You !
Certainly would love to help but I don’t know enough to do much of anything.
About all I could do is proofread (my only proficient language is English although I can read a couple of others). I don’t know enough about the mechanics of Txp to even be certain that TextBook instructions written by others are acurate.
(Whine whine, excuses excuses…)
But keep on bumping!

Check the main page and current events to get a feel of what needs done.
Thanks MsContrary for your message, appreciated.

Ok, there’s a page titled “create an account or log in” but there is only login information. Who do I contact to create an account?

Re: [wiki] TextBook Wants You !
[Cheesy Testimonial Alert] I must say, there is something really satisfying about contributing to TextBook. I am hardly what you could call a TextPattern expert (I’m just about to wrap up my first site powered by TXP), so I posted my instructions for downloading the current revision with Transmit for people who didn’t want to mess around with SVN. So, for those of you in the same boat as me, I would like to point out that there is plenty of very base level info that still needs to be contributed. The experts tend to go for the more advanced topics, leaving plenty of simple ones needing to be fleshed out that would really help new users overcome the initial hurdles when starting with TXP. Ok, back to my cave now ;p
