Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern - version 1.0 released

What client are you guys using? I am still having problems getting this working “out of the box”. I did comment out the lines, but I cannot get wbloggar working and with this for some reason. Are there and other pc clients that someone can recomend?

Thanks!

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern - version 1.0 released

I am using ecto, with the MovableType API.

The error I was getting was my TXP username and password wouldn’t validate, even though they were correct. I just changed my password, and now things are working again for me.

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern - version 1.0 released

I’m having problems with 1.0RC3 using MarsEdit.

What did I do wrong?
- I uploaded the files to textpattern/ and textpattern/lib
- In MarsEdit I created a new weblog using as url my actual sites url ;), software “Other MetaWeblog-compatible” and RPC URL “siteurl/textpattern/xmlrpcs.php”, Blog ID is the section I want to post into.

I get the error:
Can’t get recent posts for siteurl because The XML parser could not parse the data.: XML-RPC Response Parsing Failed.

thx for any ideas

Textpattern loves me, and I love textpattern.

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern - version 1.0 released

Encouraged by the Flickr + XRT entry on Pixel Meadow, I installed XML-RPC for Textpattern v1.0 and tried to set up a Textdrive-hosted TXP weblog in Flickr.

Going through the “Add a weblog” setup, I picked MetaWeblogAPI on the “Enter your login details” screen and entered http://[thesite]/textpattern/xmlrpcs.php as API endpoint, which returned: “The endpoint you entered was not correct”.

This is funny because the xmlrps.php script responds with a blank html page if loaded in a browser — so the address is correct. The same goes for the TXP user ID and password.

Anyone else had any problems with this?

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern - version 1.0 released

Hi,
I’m trying to get this extension to work with w.bloggar, and no luck :-(
I installed XML-RPC by uploading the contents of the zip to the /textpattern dir.

These are the settings I used for the wizard:

1)
Yes, I want to add it as a new account

2)
Blog Tool: (custom)
Account Alias: txpsite
Ping: unchecked
Use proxy: unchecked

3)
Posts: metaWeblog API
Categories: metaWeblog API – multi
Templates: Not Supported
I left all the tag entries at their default.

4)
host: [the txp site]
path: /textpattern/xmlrpcs.php
port: 80; https: no

5)
user: main account txp install
pass: ********

—> Finish —> Error: Unable to parse the XML response. Reason: there can only be one element from the highest level (this is translated literally from dutch).

Who knows what I’m doing wrong here?

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern - version 1.0 released

Update: I commented out the stripspace function as described earlier this topic and now it seems to work :-)

edit: typos
