Fixed forum gets my vote too.
Current RC3 has very few problems. Nothing major, atleast not for me so far. I can live with it, but not without the forum and all the help I get.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Marios,
I can’t speak for ob1’s search plugin. I think for most people’s needs, this is all you need (without any external plugins or hacks):
http://kusor.com/en/txptags/19/search-results
1. Create a misc form called “search_results”
2. Put the necessary search result element tags in the search_results form. I do something like this (with the help of Zem’s “zem_nth” plugin so that I have alternating colored results—with the appropriate CSS classes coloring “even” and “odd” ):
<code><txp:zem_nth step=“1” of=“2”><tr><td class=“even”></txp:zem_nth>
<txp:zem_nth step=“2” of=“2”><tr><td class=“odd”></txp:zem_nth>
<p><strong><txp:search_result_title /></strong></p>
<txp:search_result_excerpt />
</td></tr></code>
3. Then I have a “search” page which uses the txp article tag and references the above form. My search page, incidentally, has the opening and closing table tags. I think the table format is perfectly appropriate for content like this which is fairly “tabular” in nature.
Does that answer your question?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
I’m still a bit puzzled. Why is RC1 still on the homepage and everyone using RC3? Wouldn’t it be prudent to have the most recent (bug fixed) version on for people whom have never been to the forums?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
I’m not really sure what’s the policy with different versions but as for now RC3 is on the homepage for download.

Is there a way to check which revision you’re currently using?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
If you downloaded it with TortoiseSVN, then “Show Log” will tell you. Else, you’ll need to pay attention when you download it – those index.html files tell you the revision number.

Revision Nr at the Repository is 335 with aproximately 11 open tickets.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
@marios : there has been around ten tickets for some time now, tickets are being closed but new ones are created, with all the additionnal features that we get :-)
I have been thinking that RC1 could have been 1.0 final and RC3 is more like a 1.1 version…

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
@console: I thought that too. I just downloaded the RC3 zip file and upon extraction, I see the placeholder files. Anyone out there know why that is? Is this distro of RC3 still reliant upon placeholder files. Just want to know before I blast my old install in lieu of this one (albeit after a proper backup…but it still eats time if I screw it up).

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
I think those placeholder files are there for insurance. There are alot of host out there that are finicky about the .htaccess rules, and I for one know that placeholders are still necessary on some hosts if you want clean urls. On a 1and1 site I still had to break out some rewrite rules to get clean urls and I had to keep on with the placeholder files to get there. A real pain in the kiester. So I think they are there just for good measure.
