Search RC3 nav sections plugin that makes coffee

Ok there are several nav sections plugins, but the search is.. well what is it, and txp.org doesn’t return what I need. Maybe it’s a syntax thing. So do you know a plugin that might do that :

*Create a list (ul/li) of TXP sections
*Allow editing of the text displayed (for non ascii section name)
*Allow control over the order of display
*Allow inserting item that are not a section (for example a <li><a href="/forums">Forums</li> )
*Allow to not display some sections
*Add a CSS class when you are in the actual section

This should do everything you’re looking for. While its not based off TXP sections, it lets you do everything you’re looking for.

Boy, I wish I could edit my posts when I realize I’ve repeated myself.

I may be mistaken, but ako_nav doesn’t use sections. So it can’t add a class to the appropriate navSection when you are in that section.

While it doesn’t use sections it will match the URL so it will highlight the current section by adding class=“active” to the link. I’ve used it before so I know it works.

Yes, I haven’t seen the active class thing. Very nice, thanks.

My rdt_dynamenus plugin has several matchup points with your request but may be more automated than you want.

Re: Search RC3 nav sections plugin that makes coffee

I am experimenting with rdt_dynamenus for my news site template.
Well it perfectly suits my needs,I have a question about this.
I am using the rdt_article menu tag for my sidelinks.Well everything works precisely as expected and exactly the way I had planned it except one thing.
For each article sidelink I would like to display an excerpt summary of the corresponding article(not more then 25 words count)below each link and allso be able to apply a class to it.)
Because I’m new to textpattern I’ll ask first this:Is that something that I could achieve in combination with existing TXP tags,or does the plug in need to be hacked in to allow excerpts.
(Basically from generated XHTML that would make more sense then with definition lists.)
It would be nice to see this wunderfull plug in with more features,
Is there any hack technique that can be used?

regards,marios

Re: Search RC3 nav sections plugin that makes coffee

Jeremy I think you want spc_section_alias. It does everything you are looking for. I just used it for a friend
<a href=“http://studioqphotography.com”>here</a> The nav on the right uses it. It is a little laborious to set up so save it as a snippet to use it over again. It will let you create navigation like you are looking for, but it is a mnual set-up. If you want any form for it I have them made up to get it started more quickly. The other one I have used that patialy does what you are looking for and is very simple to use is kis_sectionmenu, it works like a charm, but I don’t know about the cat listing…. sorry for not linking the plug’s…its juat so damn laborious to find them in another tab and come back to post the links. =)
