Re: #textpattern
I think you guys should do more than just setting up a channel. We should have weekly discussions and stuff. Keep the forum updated on whats going on in the Chat room.
p.s. I know I know you discuss lotsa things but the people who visit textpattern should know whts goin on. Set a specific time so that everybody can visit at the same time. You can make announcements (probably in the forum: open up a seperate thread) and agendas on what you’re gonna chat about etc etc. :)
p.p.s. I am only suggesting (No offence)

This could be interesting…like attending a scheduled remote presentation or something. There are certainly lots of subjects that could be discussed. Just a matter of someone stepping up on occasion to give the presentations (doing the training), as it were.
People could make announcements in this thread if they were interesting in hosting a topic discussion, and when they intended to do it; then people could just attend or not, kind of cool, and easier than loitering around on a quite channel all day long.

i’m willing to do some xhtml and css presentations. learning those is really one of the bigger steps to learning to use textpattern more effectively.

Re: #textpattern
Alright, there’s a start; and a good topic too (probably many topics within that topic alone).
Another area where where discussions could be lead is with respect to people who have developed plugins. What a great way to introduce a plugin, point out what it’s intented for and capable of doing, and addressing a few questions about it.
Another area might be to talk about a particular TxP “setup” (vague term there), and how one would go about doing it. For example… “Today’s focus is on using the article_custom tag, what attributes support it, and examples of ways it can be used to structure output.”…that sort of thing.
The more I think about it, the more I think this has potential, you could even capture each session as a transcript, saving it in an archive, and making it available to refer to later (or support TextBook with).
Interesting possibilities with this. Maybe even start a calendar or posted schedule somewhere so people could sign up and give others a place to refer to when something is coming up.

Re: #textpattern
Definetly interesting. But i dont think anyone is watching this thread (i guess they are not aware of it). If possible we have to open up this as a new discussion under “Textpatter” or right here (Announcements).
If we label the title as “Textpattern v 1.0 released” we’ll get a lotta visitors. or even make an announcement sayin “Visit the #textpattern IRC channel to get a copy of txp 1.0”. But those are only desperate measures (I’m sure we wouldnt wanna go that way). :)

Re: #textpattern
or you could title it “Screenshots of Textpanel!” and cause a few (more) heartbreaks…
