Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Thanks Davidm. Yes, actually that is where I got started with the original search for how to download TextPattern rc3. There are quite a number of different threads going on about this and that particular thread itself went in so many different directions that I got very confused. I just don’t have the vocabulary to keep up with all the jargon that so many people here use.
Mind you the support for TextPattern, both here in the forum and in TextBook, are much much better than over at WordPress. Things at WordPress are so confusing for someone without a technical background and the forum and wiki so convoluted that I usually can’t make heads or tails of what I am supposed to do. Here at least I know where to search for things. It’s just that I wish there was a way of compiling, in an easy to access way, the advice and tutorials that come up here. When people suggest five or ten different ways of doing the same thing it’s pretty disconcerting for a newcomer.
Bizartist’s method of downloading using Transmit 3 finally worked for me. And all the files were downloaded as php files… none of the html file problems I was having before.
Thanks for your help.

You just described the wiki and resources site. But they’re only a good insofar as people post to them.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Looks like butuki figured it out
By the way, if there are links to TextBook articles, they should be updated to point to the chapter page only. Article links change from time to time (for improvement reasons) and will only be a pain to keep updating. The chapter pages will always remain the same.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
I finally got the latest version RC3 and have uploaded it to a new server location to test it out but all I am getting is an error page. Has anyone else encountered this error while trying to setup the new release:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, you@example.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Please can someone help me out here.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
I had to add “RewriteBase /” at the beginning of my .htaccess.
If you installed in a subdir, the line must be “RewriteBase /subdir”.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Got the new RC3 version up on a different domain but cannot access the admin section ? Anyone run into this problem. I can access everything else, but the admin page just loads a blank page, no error messages or anything ?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
tmcraig – I had this problem the other day. Did you go straight from RC1 to the latest RC3? I could only get it to work if installed an older RC3 version first, and then reset all the site admin preferences, and then update to the latest RC3
Cheers,
