Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
Pierce, download and install the updated plugin. Thanks.
In the next version I will write the <textarea> tag such that it will not interfere with the plugin screen.

Sorry. Working now. Cheers.
I’ll be very interested in that Hickdesign live preview function if you ever get it working.
Good job.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
What this needs is to add an id attribute to each <input> so that the forms can include functional <label> tags and validate for section 508.

Also, the comments shouldn’t be enclosed in <code><span>s</code> because you are including divs and other stuff inside. A span is only for inline content.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
The plugin is mostly done, though I still need to write the documentation for it.
jammin: by default, Txp uses the forms “comments” and “comments_form” to produce the individual comments and the input form, respectively. However, some styling elements are still hard-coded into the functions, so it’s still not ideal.
The new release of the plugin doesn’t, at this point allow “custom” form names; it still uses the two specified above, but I’ve removed pretty much all of the inline styling so you can style it to your heart’s content in your CSS. The preview is also disabled.
I’m looking into integrating Jon Hick’s live preview function, as well as a Javascript field-checker. This might come later though.
You can see the test version in use at hicksdesign. Jon has also enabled the live preview for it there.

Oh, by the way, I’m open to suggestions with regards to the code for the form input tags, as Etz Haim mentioned. Please email me with your suggestions. :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
is it just me, or has <txp:low_discuss_form /> tag stopped working?
it seems the comments form is now outputted along with the comments theselves, all in the tag <txp:low_discuss_form />..
will they be reseperated in the final release (i hope?) ;)
thanks again

Alicson, in the draft version, that is the case: they are combined. I plan to separate them. If all is well, the release should be coming sometime this week. :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
The updated version is available. I have tested it with only RC3 as of now, so it cannot be considered fully stable. Please backup your installation before trying out the plugin. I’d appreciate it if you could report any bugs you find.
You can download it here.
Follow the documentation within the plugin.
You will also need to grab a second plugin, low_article in order to use this. You can find it here.
You will then need to use <txp:low_article /> in place of <txp:article />. Attributes are the same. I will write a basic description for this one when I have the time.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
So, what’s going to happen to us who depend on chh_article_custom? Is there any chance to use this instead with low_discuss?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
As long as chh_article_custom does not unset the $thisarticle variable, it should work.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] low_discuss
can’t seem to get this to work. i’m using low_article to call the articles, but no matter what i try, the only thing i can any of the low_discuss tags to output it “sorry, commenting is closed for this article” which it most definitely is not.
my site is located here. basically, I want to put the comments invite at the bottom of each article, as usual. on the archive page, i want the comments to go in the black sidebar (div#sidebar in the css and html). i’ve put the correct tags, i believe, yet it still tells me commenting is closed. any ideas?

Same problem here. I’m also getting a Javascript error:
“BUG: couldnot get Form object discuss_form”
Any help here anyone?
