Available in deanload
Those upgrading from g115 or g116 must load the script located at /textpattern/_update.php in a browser after uploading.
Otherwise, remember that to upgrade, you need only replace the files in your /textpattern/ directory except config.php.
Fixes from g117:
- Added automatic cleanup of the txp_category db table whenever the category tree is rebuilt
- Added missing privileges check in presentation -> forms tab
- Changed incorrect page titling for new Sections tab
- Fixed
<txp:article_custom />outputting draft and future-dated articles - Fixed a mixup which was preventing excerpts from replacing full articles in XML feeds
- Fixed a problem where article timestamps and sections were being lost when toggling between text, html and preview for previously published articles
- Fixed a search engine error caused when no matches were found
- Fixed incorrect section editor href in write tab
- Stopped the invisible ‘root’ category from showing up in a number of places

I can’t get it to download. Any attempt I make just returns me to the main Textpattern page.

It’s back. A single missing comma in _upgrade.php was causing the category rebuild to fail.
If you downloaded 1.17a in the last hour, please grab it again, then replace /textpattern/_update.php, then run that script once again.
Sorry for the hiccough.

I used a new _update.php but ‘root’ still displaying. Or i need to replace all files in textpattern folder?

You can see ‘root’ on the left bar on my site here
I also ran the updated _update, and am having the problem with invisible categories in the organise tab.
Not sure if this will work, but:
