Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
And dev.textpattern.com changed to cheese.textpattern.com?
I saw some empty entries from Anonymous there. That’s the reason?
Ok, my daily read „dev.textpattern.com/timeline/“ is back again. sigh

This forum wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t ask. Just ask anyone.

is true is true.
i personally wonder whether if something’s gone terribly awry in the world if Ray hasn’t recently spoken up compulsively in the Text* forums.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Well it looks like Dean’s got a handle on things. If you look carefully, you’ll notice that once smoke clears, the page itself is undamaged. Looks like Dean’s got some really powerful force-field around his site. :-)

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Even the really big bombs are unable to penetrate the force-field. Textpattern’s invinciible. Wooo-hooo.

RC# Breadcrumb question:
I’m unable to get rc3 to display breadcrumbs on my search results and home page. Everything else works fine.
Thanks
Sorry if this is the wrong area for this post. If so let me know where would be better and I’ll delete and redirect.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
When people say rc3 in unstable do they mean it is unstable if someone is going to add plugins and hacks… or do they mean rc3 is unstable across the board.
I’m in a position where I need to move forward with a project. The clock has run out, so to speak.
What are the stability issues with rc3?
Can rc3 be run safely on it’s own (no plugins, workarounds or hacks)?
Is there an eta on V1? (Dean, Kursor, Zem)

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
please do not hold me responsible for anything i say here:
my personal experience with rc3 so far has been very good. i have not really run into problems… this was a clean install for a friend’s site.. i have not really tested it to its limits though… but in general it has been very nice. rc3 seems to run fine without plugins, though there are some great new plugins for it… i’ve not needed any hacks or workarounds.. though as i said, i’ve not pushed this site at all yet..
anyway, that’s my experience. i’d be comfortable upgrading my homesite to rc3 now if it didn’t mean dealing with fixing all the old mods and customizations and such… so i’m waiting for 1.0 for that… but for a new site, i think it might be fine.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Ray,
I’ve had to hack a few plugins that use an older method of making links. Other than those, the benefits of RC3 have far outstripped anything I’ve seen.
Here’s my active plugin list
cnj_excerpt_logic
kml_flashembed
mdn_if_section
mdn_sectionlink
mdp_calendar
mdp_sectionmenu
ob1_changecase
ob1_title
rss_admin_quikpik
rss_suparchive
Archive
sgb_error_documents
sgb_url_handler

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
@mkarolow: which of those plugins you listed required hacking? It may seem trivial to the developers among us to do a simple hack, but those of us without any PHP skills do find this to be a barrier of entry.

After enduring years of Art School, mild mannered Owen Waring noticed some unusual changes… the constant bombardment of criticism, it seems, had altered his DNA. Half pixel pusher, half programmer, he had become…. THE BIZARTIST
